CPIT's programmes of study in Science are:

Bachelor of Applied Science (Laboratory Technology)
Level: 7 - The Bachelor of Applied Science (Laboratory Technology) is a vocational degree for people who want to use practical science in the workplace.

Bachelor of Applied Science (with specialisation)
Level: 7 - The Bachelor of Applied Science (with specialisation) aims to develop theoretical knowledge, critical thinking and reflective practice in an environment that facilitates sound, integrated professional practice in both Aotearoa New Zealand and the global context. The programme contains both theory and practical skills for those planning a career in allied health or sport and exercise science.

Certificate in Pre Health Science
Level: 3 - This programme is for you if you are needing to gain entry into health related and applied science programmes at CPIT. You can choose from a range of subjects to prepare for your chosen health or science pathway. Some courses have optional unit standards available.

Certificate in Quality Systems
Level: 6 - This programme has one compulsory course related to the philosophies of quality management including the application of statistical and organisational techniques for establishing, maintaining and improving quality. Two electives are chosen related to science laboratory standards and practice, engineering project management and risk management, or human resource management and industrial psychology.

Certificate in Science
Level: 3 - This programme prepares you for higher levels of study and is designed for those without previous experience in science. An individual programme of study is planned for you in subjects including chemistry, biology, microbiology, physics, mathematics and information skills.

Graduate Diploma in Laboratory Technology
Level: 7 - This widely respected qualification provides you with specific knowledge, practical skills and relevant analytical techniques. This includes an understanding of laboratory quality management practice, and reporting skills. The elective component will enable you to enrich and broaden your knowledge within and beyond your existing degree major and the work placement will contribute to your employment prospects once you graduate. The programme is structured and run in response to local and national employer needs for a well-trained and effective workforce.
