CPIT's programmes of study in Professional Restaurant, Wine and Bar Service are:

Certificate in Cafe Bar Service
Level: 3 - A practical 'hands on' programme for work in restaurants, bars and cafes. You will train in the CPIT Restaurant, build your product knowledge as you learn how to serve a range of foods, wines and beverages; make delicious espresso-based drinks in our Barista Training Room, and learn how to create amazing cocktails. This programme incorporates National Certificate in Hospitality (Food & Beverage Service) with Beverage Service Strand Level 3.

Certificate in Professional Restaurant, Wine and Bar Service
Level: 4 - This programme will give you hands-on training to an advanced professional skill level in restaurant, wine, bar and barista service. You will achieve this by working in CPIT's restaurant, guided product tasting sessions, work experience and a field trip hosted by Pernod Ricard New Zealand (Montana Wines). The programme incorporates National Certificates in Hospitality Level 3 and Level 4. The programme focuses on food and beverage knowledge, creating cocktails, wine and food matching, and above all superior customer service skills.

Certificate in Hospitality
Level: 2 - This programme aims to develop basic skills and knowledge relevant to customer service roles in café and restaurant environments and cooking routine food dishes in a commercial kitchen.

Licence Controller Qualification, a qualification designed for people aiming to be employed as a Duty Manager on a licensed premises.

What are my career options upon completing a qualification in Restaurant, Wine & Bar Service?

Graduates of CPIT's Professional Restaurant, Wine & Bar Operations programmes can choose to either continue their studies to gain a National Diploma in Hospitality Management or find employment in one of the following roles:
