Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice (with optional specialisation)
Level: 7 - This programme offers New Zealand Registered Nurses the opportunity to develop their skills in a specialised field. A wide range of specialisations is available including gerontology, cardiac nursing, cardiothoracic nursing, critical care nursing, medical nursing, surgical nursing, wound management and oncology. Other courses available include the management of diabetes, medical high dependency nursing, pain management and ECG rhythm analysis. On completion the graduate gains the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice. An appropriate selection of courses can result in a Graduate Certificate endorsed in a specialisation. Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice Timetable 2010
The Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice has been developed to meet the education needs of nurses looking to achieve a post-registration qualification but who do not wish to study at Masters level.
Nurses can begin the courses immediately following graduation. A number of courses are available as a professional practice option to upskill in specific areas of practice.
