If you have started studying business at another tertiary institution and are considering transferring your course credits to
study a business programme here at CPIT, here are some answers to questions you may have:
Note: A course is the equivalent term to a paper at University, a programme is an equivalent term to a qualification i.e.
Diploma in Business.
Yes you are able to transfer, either to a qualification that is the same, e.g. New Zealand Diploma in Business or to a similar qualification so long as you meet the entry requirements.
CPIT has a process to recognise credits for courses studied at other institutions for other qualifications
Yes, as long as you meet the entry requirements.
Yes, we recognise all qualifications approved by NZQA and where appropriate can give credit.
CPIT has a process to recognise credits for courses studied at other institutions, so you will not have to repeat courses nor complete very similar courses.
CPIT can only recognise credits for completed courses
There is no transfer fee, but some fees are charged to recognise the transfer of credits.
Programmes begin in February and July each year, so it is best to transfer at least a week before the start dates.
You will need to make an application to join our programmes, but if you attend in person it can be approved within an hour.
