You must be physically able to work in a busy bakery environment.
Graduates with a National Certificate in Baking are sought after by employers throughout New Zealand. You will be qualified to seek employment in supermarket in-store bakeries, craft bakeries, cafe bakeries, artisan bakeries, bakery franchises and speciality outlets such as dessert suppliers. You can go on to gain a (modern) apprenticeship to study towards a National Certificate in Baking Level 4.
If English is not your first language you are also required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. Refer also to the Acceptable Alternatives Chart which includes credits in English-rich subjects from New Zealand educational institutions. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.
