Bachelor of Design
Level: 7 - This three year programme aims to give you a practical, relevant and challenging design education. During your studies you will have the opportunity to develop your creative, intellectual and practical talents and to acquire both the head and hand skills required for a professional design career.You will enrol in a common set of core papers in the first semester, before moving into your selected specialisation. You are primarily taught in small studio classes with opportunities for one-to-one interaction with your tutors.
Certificate in Design
Level: 4 - This programme is designed to prepare you for further tertiary study in art or design. You will develop an understanding of the creative design process through practical art and design skills, while at the same time improving study skills for successful degree level academic study. This programme includes a wide range of practical skills in 2D and 3D drawing, digital design, painting, photography, graphics, workshop skills, woodworking, casting techniques, use of recycled materials and folio presentation. You are also introduced to techniques for successful academic study with the opportunity to develop these skills within the Foundation History course. This introductory level programme provides a sound preparation for the Bachelor of Design. However, successful completion of the Certificate in Design does not give automatic entry to the degree, you must apply and submit your portfolio.
