Whether you simply want to learn to guide an adventure activity and/or be involved in running an adventure tourism operation.
Holiday programmes, weekend activities, walking groups, arranging recreation activities for unique groups of people within our community ... are just some of the urban recreation activities and tasks you can be involved with. Working with the community encouraging activity and designing and delivering recreation programmes is the focus.
Physical activity & health, recreation centre's, gymnasiums, fitness instruction, personal training, sports-fields, coaching, swimming pools, aquatics ... are just some of the areas fitness & recreation focus upon. Designing and delivering programmes, and/or managing recreation facilities.
After graduating from BRecEd, Malaika will work at the New Zealand Kayak School.
Ski and snowboard instruction, equipment rental and repair, alpine adventures, mountain services in catering, ticketing, lift operations, rescue, avalanche control, ski patrol ... are just some of the services that kiwis and internationals need when they head towards the winter playground.
For those who are already active in the workforce but want to reinforce or expand their abilities and qualifications. CPIT Weekend College and block training provide a pathway for professionals to select a specific adventure education course and/or work towards a qualification.
Our programmes and courses also provide you with the skills to instruct others in the pursuits at places such as Outward Bound, Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre and overseas at places like OEG (Australia). With the Bachelor of Adventure Recreation & Outdoor Education you can enter Christchurch College of Education and with one more year of study achieve a secondary school teaching qualification.
