To provide students with a comprehensive, theoretical and practical approach to technologies and protocols needed to design and implement a converged switched network.

Learning outcomes

  • Describe specific requirements for implementing a switched network
  • Perform and verify switch configuration tasks including remote access management
  • Describe VLANs and configure VLANs, VTP and STP in a switched network
  • Describe and configure Inter-VLAN routing
  • Describe basic wireless concepts and configuring wireless LAN
  • Identify and correct common network problems in a switched network
