Who is eligible to apply for Polytechnic Assistance Grants?
Currently enrolled CPIT students who are regularly attending their course and meeting their course requirements.

Can students apply for assistance during the summer break?
No, PAG assistance is only for students who are CURRENTLY enrolled. Even if a student is intending to return to study in the new year, they cannot apply for assistance until they have been attending their course for at least 5 weeks, and cannot apply if there is less than one week of their course left to go.

Are international students eligible to apply for Polytechnic Assistance Grants?
No, students must be New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents to apply for PAG Assistance.

Can students apply for a grant for a debt incurred prior to studying at CPIT?
No, debts incurred prior to enrolling are not eligible for assistance.

Can the Hardship Fund pay for my rental bond?
No, the purpose of the Hardship Fund is to assist students who face unexpected financial hardship – rental bond does not fall into this category.

Can the Hardship Fund pay for my text books?
No, the purpose of the Hardship Fund is to assist students who face unexpected financial hardship – as all students are expected to purchase textbooks, this expense is not considered unexpected.
