The following accommodation is not approved by CPIT for students under 18. It is not monitored, accessed or administered by CPIT.
Students can contact New Zealand Education Adviser Services (NZEAS) for more information on any of the accommodation options below. NZEAS have arrangements with the following accommodation suppliers to provide CPIT students with fully furnished rooms in houses, flats, hostels and apartments.
Each room has a bed with linen supplied, a desk, study lamp, heater and wardrobe. All accommodation is supplied with shared internet, a furnished lounge with TV, kitchen for cooking, dining and laundry facilities. Most of the accommodation available is within walking distance of CPIT.
Southwark Apartments
Southwark Apartments is 100m from CPIT and has 21 fully furnished, self-contained bedrooms with ensuite, shower, toilet and kitchenette. Each floor has a central lounge, dining room and two self catering kitchens. Room rental is $220 per week. Priority is given to long term tenancy, although short term tenancy will be considered.
Addington Student Village
30 minutes walk from CPIT, Addington Student Village offers rooms from $115 to $130 per week. Minimum rental is 12 weeks. It is ideal for a group of student who wish to rent a three bedroom, four bedroom or six bedroom unit. Sheets, pillows and blankets are the responsibility of the tenant. The facility is self catering and fully furnished. Power and service charges are additional.
Furnished rooms in houses (flatshare)
10 to 15 minutes walk to CPIT. Tenancy period is from four weeks to long term. Rental is from $135 to $160 with $10 to $15 for power and services. All facilities are self catering and fully furnished with internet facility, some with Sky multi channel TV.
Harewood Hostel
Situated near Harewood Road/Papanui Road corner, 15 minutes by bus to CPIT or own transport required. 18 fully furnished bedrooms with three lounges and full catering facilities. Internet available in the study. Room rental is $140 per week for single and $170 for twin or double share. $10 per week for power and services.
Self contained one and two bedroom units
These are available from time to time around the city. Rentals are between $150 and $250 per week and are available for short and long term. Units are furnished or unfurnished. Three weeks bond is required.
