Te whare o Ōtautahi  Otautahi House

There are still rooms available at Otautahi House for 2012. Preference will be given to students enrolling in full time study, however students completing short courses will also be considered.

Otautahi House offers rooms for 72 students in modern attractive apartments and is situated right next to our Madras Street Campus. It is close to amenities such as large supermarkets, a chemist, public transport, and is only a ten minute walk to Hagley Park.  Otautahi House is a great place to stay whilst you are studying at CPIT.

Staying at Otautahi House allows you to flat share with a group of students from around New Zealand, make new friends and share new experiences.

Apartments are attractive and comfortable with modern facilities. There are a total of 12 secure apartments, each offering six single bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, showers and toilets.

You have your own room which is furnished with a bed, bedside cabinet, desk, chair, wardrobe, mirror and drawers. Rooms are lockable and only you have access to your room.

The communal kitchens have a fridge/freezer, microwave and stove. Bathroom amenities consist of two showers, two vanity units and two toilets and there are coin operated laundry facilities on each floor.

The common areas of each apartment are cleaned by Otautahi House cleaners twice a week. You are responsible for keeping your own room tidy.

Each apartment has a phone in the lounge for making free local calls. You can arrange to have a phone and/or internet access connected to your room, at your own cost.

You will also have someone assigned from the Student Support Office to offer you pastoral care whilst you stay at the house.

Otautahi House has house rules based on consideration and respect for others to allow it to function effectively and to ensure your academic success and enjoyment.
