Adult Literacy
Level: 1 - This programme covers basic reading, writing and spelling. It is suitable for beginner reader/writers through to those wanting to go on to further study or employment.

Bachelor of Nursing
Level: 7 - This comprehensive three-year degree programme combines theory with clinical experience. The curriculum challenges you to go beyond traditional health or illness care and focus on how to create a supportive environment for health and wellbeing.

Bachelor of Social Work
Level: 7 - The Bachelor of Social Work programme is recognised by the Social Work Registration Board as a qualification which meets the educational requirement for Social Work Registration. The programme contains both theory and practice skills for those planning a career in social work. The first year includes a broad foundation for social work including academic study, introductory level research skills, critical thinking and informed decision making. The second and third years of the programme include the skills and knowledge specific to social work practice and will enable you to integrate these within the supervised social work placement. You will develop professional values and attitudes for social work practice as identified by the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and Practice Standards.

Certificate in Human Services
Level: 4 - The Certificate in Human Services and Certificate in Human Services (Social Services) is about working with people � either in a social services context or as an entry point for further study. This programme features action-oriented learning. Skills, knowledge and values relevant to working with people are modelled in class.

Certificate in Nursing (Long Term Care and Rehabilitation)
Level: 4 - This programme focuses on areas of practice where clients/patients require long term care and rehabilitation. Competencies for the nurse assistant include professional responsibility, management of care, interpersonal relationships, and inter-professional health care and quality improvement.

Competency Assessment Programme for NZ and Overseas Registered Nurses (Statement of Attainment)
Level: 7 - This programme is for New Zealand and internationally qualified Registered Nurses who are required by the Nursing Council of New Zealand to successfully complete a Competency Assessment Programme prior to obtaining a current Practising Certificate and returning to nursing practice.

Diploma in Counselling
Level: 6 - This L6 Qualification is designed to prepare people to counsel in the area of emotional issues including those associated trauma and loss.

Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice (with optional specialisation)
Level: 7 - This programme offers New Zealand Registered Nurses the opportunity to develop their skills in a specialised field. A wide range of specialisations is available including gerontology, cardiac nursing, cardiothoracic nursing, critical care nursing, medical nursing, surgical nursing, wound management and oncology. Other courses available include the management of diabetes, medical high dependency nursing, pain management and ECG rhythm analysis. On completion the graduate gains the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice. An appropriate selection of courses can result in a Graduate Certificate endorsed in a specialisation. National Certificate in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work)
Level: 4 - The National Certificate in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work) is based on a recovery approach to mental illness. As a mental health support worker you will carry out a supportive relationship with people who have been or are experiencing mental illness. As a support worker you will enable consumers/tangata whai ora to develop and implement individual lifestyle or support plans. You will work within a framework for practice informed by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, ethical standards, health standards, service specifications, and legislation.

National Diploma in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work)
Level: 6 - The National Diploma in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work) is based on a recovery approach to mental illness. As a mental health support worker at this level of capability you demonstrate integrated practice theory in your mental health support work.
