I trained in Timaru Hospital and then staffed there for a number of years in mainly surgical and orthopaedic areas, before moving to the private surgical sector. In Christchurch I have worked in St George's Hospital, Burwood and Christchurch Woman's.
I commenced working at CPIT in 1995 as a part time clinical lecturer, plus teaching Te Mara and Adult Health Assessment Skills. Over the years I have developed a passion for Primary Health Care, and am looking at completing my masters in this in 2008.
I have also worked for four years at the CPIT Health Centre in the role as a Nurse Clinician and was very involved with health promotion and education for all our community here - students and staff.
I have been full time lecturing for over 2 years now working in both the first and third years of the Batchelor of Nursing programme and as the Course Co-ordinator (and main lecturer, theroy and clinical) for the Competency Assessment Programme - Return to nursing for RN's, EN's and nurse from overseas. I really enjoy seeing students grow and develop within the courses I am involved with.
