Alex teaches in year 1 clinical and Promoting Health and Wellness papers and Nursing and Health Care in the Bachelor of Nursing programme. She has worked in a variety of nursing areas including general medical, surgical, haemotology, opthalmology and district nursing.

Areas of Interest: Primary health care, health promotion, community nursing and older persons health.

Research: Title: Expolring family relationships of the spouse and family members of older people in a long term hopsital facility. This research was comlpeted as part of requirements for a Master of Health Science in April 2007, and i graduated with a Masters of Health Sciences in December 2007.

Research output: Presentation of proposed research "The Journey So Far" at NZiRA Research Symposium in Wellington June 2005.
June 2007: Presentation "Nuts and Bolts - Building a Thesis". Advancing Nursing Series through Centre for Post Graduate Nursing, Otago University.

In 2009 I presented a poster with a colleague at the Australasian Nurse Educators Conference in Christchurch. The poster was entitled: How do age, gender and ethnicity affect student learning in a blended delivery programme? A review of the literature.
