Certificate of Proficiency (Business)
Michael was keen to pursue a career in business but had not studied many subjects relating to the field in high school. Having researched the Certificate of Proficiency offered by CPIT he felt it would be the best place to begin his studies.
"It's a great course which helps you grasp the fundamentals of all aspects of the business environment before choosing what areas to focus on more specifically, such as marketing, human resources and management."Course content was broken down into manageable sections and was well prepared. Before any assignments were due I had been taught all the information needed to produce the work properly.
It was also made clear what was required and when it was required allowing time for the necessary preparation.
"The classes provided a constant workload; it's not too much to handle but it is a step up from secondary school level. The change in tempo made me wake up to the expectations of tutors and employers.
Having successfully completed the Certificate of Proficiency Michael is now studying towards a Diploma in Business (marketing).
"The tutors both last year and this year have been great. They have devoted time and effort into helping me and other students properly understand the work laid out. They have also been open to assisting and answering questions via e-mail and have been consistent and prompt with their replies."
"I'd like to continue studying at CPIT when I finish the diploma, but I'm planning on enrolling for a 2 month Summer School course at the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television in 2006, so I'll see where I go from there."
