The next CPIT Graduations will be held on 17th September 2010.for TII, Te Puna Wanaka, Faculties of Health, Humanities and Science, Commerce, and Creative Industries Faculities at 2.00pm in the Auditorium, Christchurch Town Hall.
1 Application for the Awarding of a Qualification
In order to receive your qualification document you will be supplied with an application form. This will come from your faculty.
Please contact your Faculty Reception for details and please indicate whether you wish to have your qualification awarded at the Graduation Ceremony or in absentia (not at the ceremony).
If you request to graduate in absentia, your qualification document will be mailed to you or held for you to collect after 17 September 2010 from the CPIT's Central Academic Records Office situated in the Rakaia Centre.
The main entrance is on Madras Street. You will need to bring proof of your identity at that time, eg your student ID Card or driver's license.
If you choose to attend Graduation in person, the ceremony will be held at the Town Hall on Kilmore Street.
2 Confirmation
When we receive your forms indicating your Graduation choice, we will send you a letter confirming that we have received your application.
At this point your personal details are entered onto the Graduation database ready for publishing in the programme for the day.
3 Regalia
If you choose to attend the Graduation Ceremony, you are required to wear the regalia appropriate to your qualification. (See Regalia)
Gowns are hired from the Federation of Graduate Women on your behalf. You will receive details well before the ceremony as to the regalia required, the hiring cost plus the details of the day, time and place to pick up and return the regalia.
4 Assembly and Procession
Assemble in you regalia in Court Theatre Square, Christchurch Arts Centre (off Worcester St.) no later than 1.00pm.
5 Guest Tickets
Up to five tickets, if requested, are sent with your graduation guide for your guests. These are issued on a 'first come, best seated basis' and have no reserved seat numbers. You will be given the opportunity to request additional tickets and these will be allocated once all graduands have their standard allocation of guest seating.
6 Special Needs
If you or any of your guests have special mobility or access needs, please let us know either on your application form or by phone (03- 940 7534) nearer the date. In the case of anyone whose communication is by NZ Sign language, early notification would allow for the appointment of an interpreter to attend the ceremony.
7 Photographs
A photographer will be at the ceremony.
