Studying musical arts

Since 1991 the School of Performing Arts has built a reputation as being a focus for excellence in contemporary music education. Our history in jazz, popular and rock music education has produced many graduates who are well established in the music industry in New Zealand and overseas.

The tutors on the Bachelor of Musical Arts are all professionally active performers, composers and arrangers who have a dazzling array of musical experience and achievements from within New Zealand and abroad.

This degree has been designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you the room to expand and develop musically, following your own pathway, but within a structure designed to help you succeed. You'll get the sense of being part of something – a group of like-minded individuals, passionate about music above all else.
