Studying broadcasting

Study towards the career of your dreams in this fast paced, practical, and skills based degree. You can choose to specialise in Broadcast Journalism, Radio Broadcasting or Digital Film and Television Production.

For more than 25 years professional broadcasters working with students at the New Zealand Broadcasting School have fostered a strong work ethic, encouraged creativity and honed the skills and attitude needed to succeed in this challenging industry. They enjoy sharing their extensive experience and industry connections to help advance your broadcasting career in New Zealand and overseas.

In your first semester you will be working in purpose-built studio environments creating programmes for TV, radio or on-line channels.

As part of your study you will also complete a six-month industry internship. The internship provides an effective link between theory and practical aspects of broadcasting, and gives you a new employee perspective.

If you are an industry professional wishing to complete the degree part time and off campus, The Executive option to the Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications degree may be suitable for you.
