Where will classes be held?

Many of the classes are based around the Atrium of the Rakaia Centre, however many are also offered in the community so please check the location for each course.

What are the Entry Requirements?

Summer School warmly welcomes all those over the age of 16 years who are not full time secondary students.

Are courses eligible for Student Loans?

Some of the assessed courses may be eligible for a student loan and/or allowance. Please check at the Enrolment Desk.

Can international students attend Summer School?

Yes, however additional international fees will apply. Full details of visa and permit requirements are available from the New Zealand Immigration Service. These can be viewed at their web site:
www.immigration.govt.nz or, alternatively, if your query is regarding what is required of you as a student, please contact our Enrolments counter.

Statements of Attendance

Students who attend and complete a non-assessed course are eligible to be issued with a letter of attendance at course conclusion. Eligible students wishing to have their attendance recognised by a formal Statement of Attendance may request these Statements from the faculty that delivered the course in which they were enrolled.

Is there parking available?

Parking will be available free of charge for January courses only. Free parking is available only in the area marked on the map (inside front cover). Use of the pay and display areas will incur parking charges. You will need a blue “Summer School” authorisation card to display on the dashboard of your vehicle and you may get this from the Enrolment Desk or the Welcome Desk in the Rakaia Centre.

NB: The Countdown Shopping Centre car park is for use by mall patrons only. Parking wardens may apply wheel clamps to the vehicles of people who do not shop in the complex. Any vehicle release expenses incurred are the responsibility of the student concerned.

Is there a free shuttle?

Yes, the Christchurch City Council’s free shuttle runs past the main entrance to CPIT on Madras Street. This shuttle runs every 10 minutes from Cathedral Square and surrounding areas.
