Programmes: A Programme is defined as a group of one or more courses, usually leading to a qualification or other award.
Courses: A Course is defined as the smallest component of delivery in which a student is enrolled and which consists of defined learning outcomes and requirements.
Open Entry
Some of these programmes and courses are open entry and anyone can enrol. Enrolments on these are done on a first come, first served basis. Enrolling by post is the fastest way of getting your enrolment in. If your programme or course is open entry, then we'll send you an enrolment pack.
Restricted
Many of the programmes and courses are not open entry and you need to apply to be admitted to the programme or course. This often involves submitting information about your high school or college academic record, but it may involve other things as well, such as providing a portfolio of art work for art and design programmes. Almost all our courses and programmes have a tuition fee. The fee for students who are New Zealand citizens or residents is different to the fee charged to international students, as the New Zealand Government subsidises the fee for New Zealand students.
If your course or programme has restrictions on entry, then you'll receive an application pack.
If you are concerned that your qualifications or experience may not meet the entry requirements for a programme please contact us to discuss your options. CPIT recognises a range of equivalencies and many programmes have foundation programmes that can help you reach your goal.
Most full time programmes and some part time courses at CPIT require those interested to complete an application form. The application process is used to check that you have the correct background to enable you to successfully participate in your chosen study. The application process can vary depending on the programme you are applying for; therefore it is advisable to contact your CPIT programme leader.
