CPIT is committed to supporting healthy and active staff. We offer a variety of opportunities for staff to take charge of their health and wellness. Activities include fitness tests, nutrition, walking, cycling, yoga, dancing, Weight Watchers at Work Programmes and on-site massage. We are always looking for new and interesting ways for staff to get involved and get active. Sponsorship is available for official city events and social teams. The CPIT Health Centre provides an accessible and competitively priced health service. While primarily established for students, you can access nurses, a general practitioner (GP), counsellors and a physiotherapist.
Confidential counselling services are available to staff through the Organisational Counselling Programme (OCP) , an independently run service.
The CMPA exists to offer support to Māori and Pacific Island staff and students at CPIT. CMPA staff will be happy to assist with any issue you may have. You are welcome to come over to the Whare buildings and introduce yourself.
CPIT is committed to environmental sustainability. We encourage you to consider using an alternative way to get to work other than using your car. If you plan to walk, run or cycle, there are showers and changing facilities available.
A secure cycle lock up (only accessible by staff card) is available.
We also have a commitment to minimising waste in all its forms and encourage everyone to use the numerous recycling bins provided.
CPIT's focus on practical, applied learning means that we can often provide the products of these classes to staff and students at reasonable prices.
Students and staff from the School of Food and Hospitality regularly open Visions Pantry, an on-site cafe serving a range or beverage, plus hot and cold food, to enjoy on site or to take away.
Visions on Campus Restaurant opens for lunch and evening dining at specified times throughout the year. Opening times are promoted online and throughout the campus.
Each campus has a staffroom for the use of all staff. There are a number of food outlets on site at the Madras Street Campus and the Trades Innovation Institute also has a cafe serving a range of food. Most sections have their own refreshment facilities.
CPIT operates a number of low cost car parks for staff and students at the Madras Street Campus. These parks currently cost only $2 per day. Reserved parking is also available at a higher rate.
Car parking at the Trades Innovation Institute is either roadside on Sullivan Avenue, or onsite in paid car parking. The same rates apply to on site car parking.
Te Whare Manaaki o nga Tamariki
This is a CPIT operated Early Learning Centre available for all staff. With an excellent reputation for high quality care, all staff members working in the centre have an early childhood education qualification and places are highly sought after.
Te Waka Huruhurumanu ki Ōtautahi
This is a bilingual Early Learning Centre for children from six months to five years. Offering high quality care and education in an excellent environment with emphasis on using Te Reo Māori. While this is not a CPIT operated centre it is on the Madras Street Campus and is available to staff and students.
The CPIT library has a wide range of Library and Learning Services available to staff.
