What was Regional Facilitation?
From 2007 to 2009, the Tertiary Education Commission progressively introduced an approach to planning, funding, quality assurance and monitoring in the tertiary education system.
It was considered that a shared understanding of stakeholder needs, on a national and regional basis was critical to success and that the best way to achieve that was by bringing education and training providers, Industry Training Organisations and wider stakeholders together to pool information and gain a shared view of tertiary education needs, priorities and gaps.
What was a regional statement of tertiary education needs, gaps and priorities?
A key function of the regional facilitation role was the development of a high level statement of regional tertiary education needs, gaps and priorities agreed at the conclusion of strategic dialogue with stakeholders.
CPIT was the Regional Facilitator for Canterbury.
The following are the other documents from 2007 and 2008 reflecting consultation during this period. Much of the core information remains relevant and is therefore archived here for your use as required.
Thank you to all those who participated in the process, especially to the members of the Providers' Network Steering Group and the Department of Labour and the Canterbury Development Corporation for your guidance and support in the development of both the process and the Statements.
