Supporting quality learning experiences

CPIT's Centre for Educational Development (CED) leads and supports the development of high quality, flexible and inclusive learning experiences.

We work together with teaching staff and industry trainers to support programme design; teaching, learning and assessment, and professional development.

Programme design

  • supporting staff with the redesign and development of programmes of study
  • providing leadership in the development of the scholarship of teaching and learning
  • providing resources to support educational design

Teaching, learning and assessment

  • evaluating and research into teaching and learning practice
  • encouraging the dissemination of good practice both within CPIT and across the sector
  • supporting staff in the evaluation of their teaching and learning practice
  • capturing and sharing good practice
  • providing support for the Ako Aotearoa Tertiary Teaching Excellence Awards

Professional development

  • working with disciplinary teams to identify and meet staff capability needs for learning and teaching
  • coordinating provision of literacy and numeracy advisors to faculties
  • delivery and support of professional development programmes, including staff induction
